Writing, for me, will always be my first love, but it will never be my only love. Having dealt with depression and anxiety for the past twenty years, writing was always a cathartic act of self-expression when other ways weren’t working. Whether it was through poetry or personal introspective pieces, every word that tumbled onto the page was channeled directly from the heart and helped alleviate some suffering. When it came to working for myself, all I wanted to do was write and so I feel grateful that, through a multitude of opportunities, from poetry exhibitions to anecdotal zines, and web copy for charities and conscious brands, I’ve been able to do something I love and use words to not only express myself, but to help others to do so also.

I’ll admit that I haven’t always loved astrology and I think that’s mainly because I didn’t always know much about it. Whilst my mother studied Evolutionary Astrology with Jeffrey Wolf Green and has over thirty years experience, it wasn’t until I’d left England in the Summer of 2013 that I even took an interest. I’d come home for Christmas and in a state of nomadic curiosity asked her for insight into my future. The reading she did for me proved to be so accurate that I was instantly hooked. I’ve been delving into the depths of astrology ever since and it never ceases to amaze me how much we can uncover, not only about ourselves, but about the world! Fuelled by this passion, now I’m the one providing readings! Nothing brings me more pleasure than sharing this great tool with others, so that they can better understand themselves and the world in which they inhabit.

I took up an interest in yoga around age sixteen, but it wasn’t until I moved to Berlin and found Yellow Yoga, that I was actually able to afford to focus more attention on my practice. Under the guidance of some really amazing teachers, I not only cemented my love for yoga, but also enriched my understanding of it beyond the mat. I was so inspired, that I eventually traveled out to India in 2018 and completed the 200h Yoga Teacher Training with Sampoorna. I find yoga to be an incredibly powerful and healing practice. Moving energy around the body and releasing blockages can be life changing, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. As with seated meditation, yoga, through its movements and focus on the breath, helps to ground you, bringing you back to your body and quieting your mind.

This is about the journey though, not the destination, because ultimately, for all I’ve learnt, I acknowledge that there will always be more to learn.
